Learn how to make your own avocado toast in 5 minutes! I love avocado toast for breakfast – it’s healthy, it’s easy and it’s delicious. However this one was more brunch for me. And it tasted like pizza. Well, might be that I hadn’t had pizza in a while.

Disclaimer: If you’re not a baby, you shouldn’t spend your afternoons like this.

Avocado Toast That Tastes Like Pizza?

Saturdays I’m very lazy and I’m not exactly in the mood to eat only healthy stuff. So last Saturday I went for a coffee and a cake. Now you’re like: “Wow, interesting story, tell me more, please!!!”

Fine, I will.

It was a special occasion because it was Saturday. The cake was delicious, the coffee was okay – it was all worth the calories and the guilt trips.

However. I don’t know what was in that cake and in the coffee, but I had to take a loooooong afternoon nap aka siesta.

That’s Spanish.

When I woke up I decided to try and eat some vegetables. Basically I was trying to trick my mind into thinking that I don’t only eat cake and sleep all day. And I made a big discovery.

This avocado toast.

It tastes like pizza. It was one of the happiest moments in my life.

It’s Easy And Quick

If you’ve read basically any recipe or meal plan here, you’ll notice I mention pizza a lot. Because I’m in love with it. It’s pizza. It’s the one thing I miss most when I try to eat super healthy. I’ve tried all kinds of “healthy” pizza versions and they all sucked.

Yes, I’m talking about you, cauliflower crust pizza! You suck. Nothing more disappointing than spending around 1.5 hours making something that tastes like somebody’s already digested it a few times. Yes, I mean you, cauliflower crust pizza! And I don’t even consider cauliflower crust pizza healthy. True, it might not have that many calories, and it might be made with cauliflower, but it’s cauliflower that’s been baked until it’s super dead. So all the good things that prevent cancer and aging are gone.

Before I make cauliflower crust pizza cry, I must say, fine – you like it, eat it! Better than no pizza. But this avocado toast tastes very much like a light and fresh pizza with so much basil…And it’s so much easier and quicker to make.

Avocado Toast For Breakfast

So why do you need this avocado toast:

  • It’s actually healthy, because the vegetables we use here are fresh.
  • You won’t notice you don’t have any cheese in it
  • You’ll wake up in a microsecond from your afternoon nap
  • And you’ll only need 5 min to make this healthy recipe.

That’s something worth trying.

Make it for breakfast, or if you want something quick for lunch or even dinner it will do the trick. You get about 2 servings of vegetables right there.

To make this avocado toast gluten-free or paleo, use gluten-free bread or paleo bread. I don’t think it’s going to taste amazing as a lettuce wrap, but it might.
